Breast Lumps

Understanding and Treating Breast Lumps

Women of all ages may approach a gynecologist with a lump (swelling) in one or both breasts lumps. The lumps may be associated with symptoms such as pain, discharge from the nipple, and swelling in the axilla. Most women will have a fear of cancer when they feel a lump, but most lumps are not cancer.

Treating Breast Lumps

Our approach starts with a thorough clinical examination, where we assess the characteristics of the lump, your medical history, and any associated symptoms. Depending on the findings, we may recommend further diagnostic tests such as a mammogram, ultrasound, or a biopsy to determine the nature of the lump.

We understand that waiting for results can be stressful, which is why we prioritize quick and accurate diagnosis. Throughout the process, we ensure that you are fully informed and involved in every decision regarding your care. Our team is committed to providing you with clear explanations and answering all your questions so that you feel confident and reassured.

If a lump is determined to be benign, we’ll discuss the best course of action, which may include monitoring, lifestyle changes, or further investigation if necessary. Should the lump require further treatment, such as surgical removal, our gynecologists work closely with breast surgeons and other specialists to provide a seamless continuum of care.

Your peace of mind is important to us, and we aim to provide a supportive and compassionate environment throughout your journey. Whether it’s your first experience with a breast lump or a recurring issue, we’re here to offer the care, expertise, and empathy you deserve.
